Anxiety and Stress

Everybody feels stress. Stressful situations come in all shapes and sizes. At times, stress can be situational (waiting in a long line at the supermarket). Other times, stress can be more complex (problems with school or your family, family members who are sick). Small amounts of stress can motivate people to achieve goals. However, when the stress begins to impact your ability to live a normal life, you may begin to feel anxious or out of control. This in turn is likely to cause irritability and chronic fatigue. Prolonged exposure to stress has been shown to have a negative impact on your physical and emotional well-being.
Anxiety can also affect anyone. Like stress, all people feel anxious from time to time. However, when the anxiety impacts your ability to function normally in your everyday life, it may be time to seek additional help. Symptoms of anxiety include: checking or rechecking, a constant worry about activities, and fear that has no apparent cause.
