What to Expect

If you’ve never been to therapy before, you’re probably wondering about what that first meeting with your therapist will be like…It’s virtually impossible in advance to describe precisely what to expect, as each client-therapist relationship is unique

The first session is generally about 90 minutes long, and is geared towards getting the therapist as much information as possible so that he or she can game-plan with you about where you are and where you would like to go in your life. This is the place for you to be as open and honest about yourself and your life as possible: all the information you give is confidential, and the therapist is focused on figuring out the best approach for you.

Sessions usually occur once weekly, although sometimes it works better to meet more often. Sessions are 45 minutes long. We do not have arbitrary limits on the number of sessions you can have with your therapist.
